We know that booking your first massage can feel a little intimidating. You might not know what to expect, what to wear, or even what happens during the appointment. That’s completely normal. This page walks you through the process step by step so you can arrive feeling relaxed, prepared, and confident.

Your First Massage

Pre-Appointment

Before your appointment, try to drink plenty of water and avoid heavy workouts right beforehand if possible. You don’t need to do anything special to prepare, just come as you are. Wear comfortable clothing and arrive ready to relax. If you have any injuries, medical conditions, or areas you’re concerned about, we’ll go over everything together before we begin.

Arrival

When you arrive, you’ll come through the gate and head to the back door where the studio is located. Once inside, we’ll take a few minutes to chat about how you’re feeling, what areas you’d like to focus on, and if you have any questions before we start.

When it’s time for the massage, I’ll step out of the room so you can get undressed to your comfort level and get under the covers on the table. During the massage, only the area being worked on will be uncovered, and you will always remain properly draped. As soon as that portion is finished, you’ll be covered back up so you can feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time.

during

During your massage, you can talk as much or as little as you’d like. Some people like to chat, and others prefer to completely relax. There’s no right or wrong way to do it.

The most important thing is that you communicate with me about pressure, comfort, or anything that doesn’t feel right. Everyone’s body is different, and your feedback helps make sure the massage is exactly what you need.

4

After

After your massage, it’s normal to feel a little sore, especially if we worked on tight or problem areas. This is a good sign that your muscles were able to release tension, but they may need a little time to recover.

For the next 24–48 hours, avoid heat such as hot tubs, long hot baths, or heating pads, as this can increase inflammation. If you feel especially sore, using ice on the area can help calm swelling and discomfort. Drinking water and taking it easy for the rest of the day will also help your body recover and get the most benefit from your massage.

If you ever have questions after your appointment, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Care that speaks for itself

Candace is very professional. I have my doctorate in physical therapy. I’m very impressed with her knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics. She is very in tune with the body and it’s needs. Candace excels at communicating throughout the massage about providing the appropriate amount of pressure. I am a lifetime client and highly recommend her services.

Katresha

Candace cares about her customers. She is truly passionate about her work and has impressive knowledge on how muscles in the body respond to stress and trauma. She did an excellent deep tissue massage that brought me much relief and provided great advice on stretching and posture. I will be a returning customer for sure!

Scott

My daughter was in tremendous pain, her back hurt so much she could barely walk. I requested services in the evening hoping to defy odds and find someone last minute. Candace was the only one who realized the severity of the situation and came immediately, no delay. Her massage relieved the pain. She was understanding, sympathetic and skilled at her profession. We will certainly hire her in the future!

Jane

This was a great experience for me. Her knowledge of anxiety and trauma and my nerve disorders and how top my body feel it’s best was amazing. The office is so relaxing, the music, the scents. The essential oils is my favorite. She’s very personable and took great care of my specific needs. I highly recommend her services.

Jennifer
